Welcome to Murphy’s Irish Pub, an authentic piece of the Emerald Isle nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach. Located at 2914 Pacific Ave, this pub offers a welcoming atmosphere infused with live music and a hint of maritime charm. Whether you choose to sit indoors or on their beautiful patio, the relaxed vibe makes you feel right at home.
At Murphy’s, the food speaks volumes. As a reviewer, I must highlight their specialties that truly capture the essence of Irish cuisine. The Bangers & Mash—a delightful serving of traditional Irish sausages paired with creamy mashed potatoes and rich gravy—sits proudly at US$16. It’s comforting and satisfying, the embodiment of home-cooked goodness.
Those seeking something heartier should not miss the Hot & Hearty Irish Stew. Brimming with tender beef, potatoes, carrots, and peas in a savory broth, each spoonful is a warm embrace against a chill in the air. And let’s not forget the Corned Beef & Cabbage—brisket slow-cooked to perfection, accompanied by freshly braised cabbage and hand-cut carrots for just US$17.
The customer reviews echo this sentiment. Patrons rave about the perfectly cooked fish and chips with an exceptional batter, and the Shepherd’s Pie, which is constantly praised for its depth of flavor. One recent visitor remarked, "this is some damn good food," a sentiment I wholeheartedly support.
In addition to the main attractions, their Soups & Salads menu brings options for those seeking lighter fare, such as the fresh Pungo Fresh Salad that combines mixed greens with delectable strawberries and feta at just US$13. Pair any dish with a cold beverage from their extensive drink menu, and you’re in for a wonderful culinary experience.
Families are also warmly welcomed with a Kids Menu featuring favorites like Chicken Tenders and Fish & Chips, ensuring that even the youngest diners leave with satisfied bellies.
Reviewers consistently commend the combination of delicious food and dynamic atmosphere—live music, friendly service, and the welcoming demeanor of the staff. It’s a true reflection of the spirit of Ireland, making Murphy’s a must-visit spot during your beach getaway.

“ If ur not a fan of live music, maybe not a spot for you. Nice vibe(kinda how I imagine eating on a ship would be like) pretty good food(my semi picky wife "this is some damn good food") enjoyed our evening and was well worth the stop. Calamari was a bit over done, but that pretty easy to do. Burger was excellent and fish and chips were superb. Honestly some of the best battering I've had one fish and ship in a long time, perfectly cooked(nice crunch, no soggy spots). 4/24/25 2030ish. ”
“ I never write reviews, but this place was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great! We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip which they but in a bread bowl and the Fried Calamari, it was so crispy and cooked perfectly! We also ordered the Reuben Sandwich and the Shepherds Pie, holy cow it was soo good!!!! ”
“ Live music, cold drinks, beautiful patio, fantastic food....I mean what else could you possibly need. We loved this place can't wait to go back. ”
“ We went for a little outing seated quickly on the patio. There are some little tarps up, so it blocked the Sun. Our waiter, I think the same was Chris was very nice and prompt . It was happy hour, so we were on a win-win situation. We'll definitely go back ”
“ We had a great experience. We came during off season so it wasn’t busy which was great. Indoor & outdoor seating. Block walk from the beach. Food was great, highly recommend the Irish whiskey burger and the Murphy’s angus burger! Our waitress Emily was super sweet ”
“ Murphy's was an amazing place to stop for dinner! We ended up going unknowingly on an open mic night, which was a lot of fun! Our server was really nice. The food was great and so were the drinks! The environment is really nice, and I highly recommend experiencing this restaurant while you're in VB! ”
“ During our recent trip to VA Beach, had an opportunity to come to Murphy's for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was super friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the food was really good. I had the avocado toast and found the pico de Gallo give the dish something unique that you don't typically get. My daughter had the waffle that was delicious and my wife had the French toast, which was really good. The surprise was the home fries. I don't tend to like home fries served by restaurants, but these were perfectly crispy and seasoned. ”
“ Murphy is your traditional Irish pub, our waitress Emily was fantastic. We had the fried calamari, crab cakes and fish and chips. They all had a great taste and was fresh. This was our first stop and we shall be back for great food and drinks. ”
